The activity of scientists, academic staff, and students on the problems of the UNESCO Chair “Theory and Technology of Environmental Safety in Water Resources Control” at NSUACE (Sibstrin) has been given a high rating. As noted in the letter written by Stefania Giannini, Assistant Director-General for Education, UNESCO (Paris, France), sent to the university on May 29, 2019, good results were achieved by the UNESCO Chair of Novosibirsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (Sibstrin) during the four-year activity period. Based on this, the agreement on the validity of the UNESCO Chair at NSUACE (Sibstrin) has been extended for 4 years (until October 2023).
In March students and teachers of the building materials, standardization and certification department of NSUACE (Sibstrin) had an internship according to the academic mobility program “Quality Management and Standardization” at Kazakh Humanitarian Law Innovative University (KazHLIU) in Semey, Kazakhstan. During the internship, students got acquainted with the issues of international standardization and quality management processes in construction. They visited leading industrial enterprises of Semey, took part in the round table, held at the Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Certification.
By the decision of the Academic Council of Novosibirsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, the title of Honorary Professor of NSUACE (Sibstrin) was awarded to a long-time friend and partner of our university Dr. Uwe Gaisbauer, head of the Gas Dynamic Laboratory at the Institute of Aerodynamics and Gas Dynamics of the University of Stuttgart. The honorary diploma was given to the well-known scientist by the rector Yury L. Skolubovich during the meeting with representatives of the delegation from the German university. The rector of NSUACE (Sibstrin) noted that there is a great potential within the framework of scientific, educational and industrial projects of cooperation with the University of Stuttgart. Dr. Uwe Gaisbauer expressed his gratitude for the appreciation of his contribution to the development of partnership between the universities and promised to make every effort to further develop the cooperation between NSUACE (Sibstrin) and the University of Stuttgart.
12 students of NSUACE (Sibstrin) successfully completed the course "Applied Aerodynamics" ("Applied aerodynamics") in English. The exam was taken personally by Dr. Uwe Gaisbauer, head of the Gas Dynamic Laboratory at the Institute of Aerodynamics and Gas Dynamics of the University of Stuttgart. The optional course was organized by the Institute of International Affairs of NSUACE (Sibstrin) within the framework of the Erasmus + program for the development of academic mobility. The participants of the course were undergraduates of the international UNESCO Chair, students from the advanced group of English, students and undergraduates of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning.
On May 17-18, 2019, the III International Scientific Student Forum for foreign bachelors, undergraduates, and graduate students "Student of the 21st Century: Dialogue, Mutual Understanding, Tolerance" was held on the basis of Novosibirsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (Sibstrin). It was attended by foreign students and teachers from a number of Novosibirsk universities, as well as from Pavlodar State University named after S.M. Toraigyrov (Kazakhstan) and the University of Belgrade (Serbia). On the first day of the forum a conference took place, where scientific student reports were presented. A round-table devoted to the discussion of international cooperation in the field of science and education was held with the representatives of Mongolian State University of Science and Technology (Ulan Bator, Mongolia) in NSUACE (Sibstrin) on February 19, 2019. The delegation from the Mongolian university included the Head of the Chair of Building Materials, the Environment Department of the Institute of Architecture and Construction, Dr. Danzandorj Sunjidmaa, Head of the Department of Building Structures, the Department of Building Engineering of the Institute of Architecture and Construction, Dr. Yagaanbuyant Duynharzhav, a representative of the university’s academic staff Zhanlav Sarantuyaa.
On December 22 and 23, 2018, the team of the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning of NSUACE (Sibstrin) took part in Snow Constructions Festival, which took place at Harbin Institute of Technology (Harbin, China). The purpose of this competition was to construct a temporary building for Ice and Snow Carnival. According to the rules, this building, measured 3 by 2.5 meters, was to be made of snow in the manner of digging and cavern. 14 teams participated in the competition: 13 teams from Chinese universities, and the Russian team representing NSUACE (Sibstrin).

On December 18, 2018, Novosibirsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (Sibstrin) and the Harbin Hongsheng Corporation (Harbin, PRC) concluded a cooperation agreement. The document, signed by Rector Yuri Skolubovich and General Designer of the Corporation Lin Guohai, will launch the strategic partnership of the parties and the implementation of investment projects in the Novosibirsk region. The cooperation agreement is aimed at developing the construction industry of the Novosibirsk region and includes resolving issues related to the introduction of innovative technologies, promoting new building materials to the market, and participating in the design and construction of new projects. The possibility of using construction technologies developed by NSUACE (Sibstrin) in China will also be considered.
On December 17, 2018, the general designer of the Harbin Corporation Hongsheng (Harbin, China), the author of numerous scientific papers and patents, professor of Harbin Polytechnic University and honorary professor of a number of foreign universities Lin Guohai delivered an open lecture at NSUACE (Sibstrin). The event was held as part of the working visit of the delegation of the Harbin Corporation Hongsheng to our university. The theme of the lecture was devoted to low-rise energy-efficient construction in the cold regions of China and aroused great interest among students, undergraduates, graduate students and teachers of Sibstrin.
